Archival Permanence
The world of digital imaging has radically changed in the past few years. Huge strides have been made in the areas of rendering and archival permanence. These improvements are the results of advances in media and pigmented inks. I have made, and continue to make every effort to stay current with the highest level of technology so I am able to produce images with confidence which will give lasting pleasure for many years.
Details:
Color prints are created using an Epson 2200 printer with Ultrachrome inks and Epson papers. Other substrates are available upon special request. However, using inks and papers which are manufactured to be a chemical match enhances the final print's archival properties. The combination I use most often has been rated by Wilhelm Imaging Research Inc. (the recognized authority) with a life span of one hundred years or more.
Black and White prints are created using Cone Technology's Piezotone pigmented monchromatic inks. The pigment used is carbon black, which has tested as stable for hundreds of years. I employ numerous chemically stable substrates with this inkset. Archival testing has demonstrated greater than one hundred year ratings for these inks.
Note:
Archival permanence is contingent upon proper care and display of prints, as well as the materials used to produce them. Prints should be behind glass, in an environment that has reduced humidity, and protected from direct UV exposure as much as possible.
Guarantee:
If any fading occurs in any of my prints, I will replace the print after return of the original.
Editions:
Digital Prints:
All prints are produced by the artist, and labeled as such. Each print is signed and numbered on the border for its position in the print edition. The corresponding edition number appears on the matte of all framed works. Editions are limited to seventy-five. When an image reaches its edition limit, it is retired with the guarantee that it will not be printed again while the photographer is living.
Gelatin Silver Prints:
Silver prints are created only by special request. Each print is signed and numbered on the border for its position in the print edition. The corresponding edition number appears on the matte of all framed works. Editions are limited to twenty-five. When an image reaches its edition limit, it is retired with the guarantee that it will not be printed again while the photographer is living.
